US MIL SPEC MS27212P “Terminal Board Assembly, Moulded in Stud, Electric |
|
|
A good general terminal
block series, from #6 up to 3/8”. Supplied without nuts and washers, so the
user has to add these. Usually supplied
in a fixed length and number of studs dependent upon the size. Cut to length
using a hacksaw. The spacing is a bit wide in #6 and #8 size, so when using
in a junction box, the box tends to be rather large. The mounting method is
strange as you have to install captive nuts in the blocks and attach from the
reverse side, so not idea if mounting off a stringer in front of a skin.
Matching bus bars are also available (MS25226) which line up with the
mounting holes. The bus bar is also
available in size #8 with a pitch of ¾” which is idea for use with circuit
breakers as a bus bar. The busbars, manufactured from copper, are available
in a range of finishes, but usually only available in Cadmium plate. Separate
covers are also available where the blocks are used in the open airframe. |
